Lates news - September 2010

  • Paula Walsh, an active lady living on Thamesmead, decided to take part in the Ladies Challenge this year and we persuaded her to raise funds for the Feel Good Co-op. She amazingly raised £180 !! and she completed the 5 Kilometres in 50 minutes. She is looking for company to do it with her next year, who is up for it?? The Feel Good Co-op supply you with a running vest and a sponsor form for you to get as many sponsors as you can. Can you beat Paula? If you can raise over £100 you will get a free massage treatment from a Feel Good Co-op professional, as well as the medal and goody bag and our gratitude for being a great supporter of the Feel Good Co-op.
  • Upon advice from our treasurer, Joanna Carew, Sandy decided to register the Feel Good Co-op as a limited by guarantee Company. We can be found in Companies House, under: FEEL GOOD CO-OPERATIVE, our registered office address is Office 4, 219 Kensington High Street, Kensington, London, W8 6BD (the address of the company that helped us to register, thereby saving Sandy from expenses against her home). Our registered Company No is. 07339888.
  • The Psychic evening that we held on 10th September went very well, with Niki giving a reading to all attendees that requested one. Thank you, so much Niki for giving your time free of charge to us that evening, and your friend Louise was a great asset to the evening too. Thank you both. I am happy to tell everyone that she did 20 readings in total!! Exhausting but we really appreciated them all.

We all enjoyed a sumptuous meal provided by Taz, a London Chef and his lovely wife. They worked really hard to create and serve delicious chicken in a red wine sauce, one alternative was haddock in a creamy sauce with cheese and chives, they also provided a vegetarian lasagne that was out of this world. Thank you also for all your hard work. To speak to Taz about any events you may have in future, call him on 07864 515027.

The event raised £100 to further the work of the Feel Good Co-operative, we hope to hold other events in the near future.

Sandy has been speaking to a potential volunteer event organiser, who may take over organising events for Feel Good Co-op so, keep fingers crossed for more great events in the future.

The raffle was won by Bob Lusher, one of our patients from Lakeside Health Centre, he did not attend the evening but he collected his artwork donated by James Hardiman and is delighted with his win. The second prize was one by one of the attendees, Renata and she is planning to use the picnic hamper regularly with her son, David, when they go out at weekends. The third prize was won by another attendee, Richard but he kindly gave it to one of his friends who loves it and plans to hang it just inside her front door. Thank you all for your support with this raffle. We made a small profit, and thank you all for your support.
