Lates news - January 2011
- Feel Good Co-operative is pleased to announce that our Winter Feast, held on 15th January was a roaring success. This is one of the very few occasions that we do not fundraise, but say a big thank you to the hard working people that make up the Feel Good Co-operative. We met at the Thames Café in Northwood Place, DA18 4HW and were treated like royalty from the start. The food and service was excellent and the choice for our meals was varied although most of us chose to have the Thames Café speciality of roast dinner, followed by some excellent puddings. (See the pictures of Helen and Beryl and Pat, in the Gallery to see how scrummy they were!)
- In the spirit of Christmas we had some games, firstly Name the Cartoon Character, which was won by Paula, our newest member, who received a pack of ‘Happiness Cards’. Then we had a great time with Pass the Parcel. The parcel had so many layers of different paper that it seemed to be won by at least three people before the final layer was labelled ‘you have won, congrats!’ Dorothy Ng, a long term supporter and Tia Chi teacher won this game and received a selection of oils and creams for her to use to keep her skin moisturised during the cold winter months. The final game was Find the Headline. This was judged by John Trott and the winner was announced as Mandy. She won a digital camera, donated by Lord Sam Robinson.
- Lord Robinson is another supporter of the Feel Good Co-operative, who helped us to get some of the great prizes raffled in the past. His knowledge and contacts has enabled us to raise funds with the help of the London City Airport and his support is greatly valued. It was a pity that he was unable to attend the Winter Feast this time, but we hope to see him ad his wife at future events.
- The wine flowed during the meal, (non alcoholic mulled wine was also available), and the coffee was drunk as the evening drew to a close. Feel Good Co-operative would like to thank all that came along, and helped our first Winter Feast to be a success. May we all wish you, the reader, a Happy 2011.
- We hope you can come along to Greenmead Community Centre, DA18 4HW on the first and third Saturday of each month to enjoy a pamper afternoon with Shiatsu, Indian Head Massage or just a back rub together with a warm welcome and chat from our highly qualified therapists.
- Don’t forget that if you are registered at Lakeside Health Centre or at Heronsgate or Gallions Reach Health Centres, you can call Sandy on 0790 803 4081 for an appointment at £10 to brighten your day and de-stress your week.
- If you want any therapist from Feel Good Co-operative to attend an event you are holding in 2011, again please call Sandy on the general phone to discuss what we offer and who we can send along to help make your event the hit it deserves to be.
